The NVX- Electric has all the same attributes and features as its diesel powered counterpart. Though this unit is powered by an electric drive motor and lithium ion batteries which are scalable up to 162 kW, the Electric Shuttlewagon is tailor suited to the application for which it is tasked. Nordco's Electric Shuttlewagons eliminate the carbon footprint of the machines it replaces.
The NVX5025 has a tractive effort rating of 38,000 lbs. (169 kN). The NVX5025 includes AAR direct-couple “non-weight transfer” type coupler on each end. These couplers are hydraulically positioned on a slide bar. While moving cars, a float position allows coupler to slide freely to negotiate the tightest curves. In addition, a patented rail gear guidance system is also designed to guide drive axles around the tightest curves.
The NVX6030 has a tractive effort rating of 45,000 lbs. (200 kN). Engine power is transmitted through a torque converter and transmission to heavy-duty no-spin differential and planetary axle assemblies. In addition, two independent drive wheel trucks are supported on rotating bearings with eight (8) 16” AAR profile guide wheels. ABS and traction assist provide more control while reducing maintenance cost.
The NVX7035 has a tractive effort rating of 50,000 lbs. (222 kN). The NVX7035 includes wide-range AAR sliding couplers that are air released and hydraulically positioned which improves pulling performance in curves and grades. The large high-density cross-linked polytheylene (HDXLPE) 90-gallon fuel tank allows for extended operational capacity.
The NVX8040 has a tractive effort rating of 60,000 lbs. (267 kN). The NVX8040 includes a Cummins QSL 9.0 U.S EPA Tier 4 Final engine (electronic), 300 HP @ 2200 RPM. The operator cab is totally enclosed and sound insulated, with 360-degree visibility and two air-ride, “high back”, 4-way positionable operator seats – one on either side of the cab. A180-degree rotating operator’s console has modern, color digital display.
