Nordco is the industry leader in the design and manufacture of Maintenance-of-Way (MOW) machinery, the equipment used by railroads to lay, clear, and maintain railroad track structure. Railroads are a key component of our transportation infrastructure and economy. Coal, oil, corn, manufactured goods, building materials – almost anything you can name - moves by rail. The volume of goods transported by the railroads has increased dramatically in recent decades, and it continues to grow. That means existing railroad track has to carry more and more traffic. Nordco plays a key role in keeping the trains running safely and on time by making it possible for the railroads to maintain and upgrade their track.

Nordco designs and builds MOW machines that provide a range of highly specialized tie renewal, rail renewal, tracking surfacing, right-of-way clearing, and track inspection functions. Jobs such as spike driving, spike removal, tie exchanging, ballast renewal and many other functions used to be time-consuming and labor-intensive. With Nordco MOW machinery these tasks are performed quickly and efficiently. While we offer an extensive list of standard features and capabilities, our machines can also be customized to meet the specific needs of the user.
