Description

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will design, analyze, troubleshoot and support the mechanical designs of a wide variety of ultrasonic product lines, from concept to manufacturing release. This role requires close interaction with multiple departments and functions. This individual must be able to function within a matrix management environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with hardware, software, engineering and assembly personnel providing technical support, design and development of multiple projects
  • Manages project issues, budgets, and schedules
  • Specifies, designs and qualifies mechanical components
  • Plans and conducts technical projects or phases of projects
  • Provides technical and operational leadership within the mechanical design function
  • Performs competitive product (and intellectual property) analysis
  • Defines, generates and reviews project requirements
  • Works with technicians and engineers developing and testing equipment and systems
  • Solves technical problems employing solid scientific methodologies

Required Qualifications

  • BSME or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years 3-D Modeling experience using Solidworks
  • 6+ years experience in product design and support including taking a product design from concept to production
  • Broad knowledge in part design and materials
  • Knowledge of gear and driven mechanisms, vehicular componentry and the installation of such; ultrasonic, electrical/electronic experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, suppliers and vendors
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office; knowledge of MS Project and Visio is desired
